ALLAN SNYDER WINS THE AUSTRALIA PRIZE
Professor Snyder receives the 1997 International Australia Prize from the Prime Minister, John Howard. The prize is shared equally with Dr. Gottfried Ungerboeck of IBM, Zurich Switzerland and Professor Rodney Tucker of Melbourne University, but formally with Bell Laboratories.
